WORLD NEWS AND COMMENTARY

🔥🔥 No less a reliable source than the Washington Post supplied a controversial chart widely circulated on social media this week. The disruptive data sprang from a story headlined, “Scientists have captured Earth’s climate over the last 485 million years. Here’s the surprising place we stand now.” The study’s chart of temperatures across Earth’s history was a kind of chimeric illusion, like the old lady/young lady/vase drawing, where people can see different things, depending on how much they blink and how hard they cross their eyes.

image.png

For we climate realists, the chart destroyed the official narrative, showing that Earth is currently bottomed out around the coldest global mean temperature in history. It raised an awkward question: why is everyone freaking out about the prospect of the planet heating up a couple degrees, even assuming that is happening or could possibly happen.

But the Washington Post and its far-left readers see the chart completely differently. Instead of focusing on the whole, their beady eyes are inexorably drawn down to the very end where, if you squint hard enough, you can make out a terrifying, tiny, upward-heading squiggle or switchback.

Scary! But, it’s not happening nearly as fast as it looks. The dramatic upturn at the very end of the graph supposedly started 300,000 years ago. In other words, not only has Earth historically been hotter —a lot hotter— Earth’s temperature has increased more, and faster, many times before. So manmade climate change, if it exists, is just a blip in an ocean of data.

That particular bugbear, the hideous specter of manmade climate change, was attributed by the researchers just to the very tippy top of the little hook at the arse end of the line.

Folks can argue about the chart’s significance. Beyond the chart, some of the article’s most remarkable admissions were buried in the text, such as this next paragraph, in which WaPo marveled at learning how the climate is constantly changing over short periods instead of languidly drifting inside a narrow range:

image 2.png

Wait, what? The climate timeline is full of sudden spikes and abrupt shifts! Imagine that! What a shocking surprise! The climate is constantly changing. What a radical concept. It is also what we’ve been telling them for decades.

If the chart holds up (who knows), it will require climate change maniacs to come up with a whole new argument. The chart proves humans aren’t destroying the planet or even the environment, since both the planet and the environment have been much hotter before now. So luckless climate fanatics are left with the much-less-interesting argument that we’re only hurting ourselves, people, since humans originally evolved in the cold:

image 3.png

Like what consequences? You might think consequences are the most significant issue, but the article and the researchers remain silent. Readers are left sorting through the junk drawers of their imaginations for clues. But, whatever the researcher had in mind, it isn’t good. The article ended on this sour note:

image 4.png

In other words, if the planet heats a couple degrees, humans could vanish or something. It is a farfetched and ridiculous argument with zero evidence. In fact, it is so farfetched and ridiculous it caused me to suspect these researchers cleverly packaged their disruptive climate chart into a carbon-dioxide-panic wrapper, to get lefties like WaPo to eat the whole thing.

I think it worked.

🔥🔥 Oh boy. India Today ran a story yesterday headlined, “Watch: Joe Biden forgets to introduce PM Modi on stage, asks ‘Who’s next?’” The sub-headline disgracefully explained, “US President Joe Biden had another forgetful episode as he looked visibly confused while introducing Prime Minister Modi on stage during a Quad event.”

image 5.png

CLIP: Biden’s angry old man moment (0:21).

The Quad, short for Quadrilateral Security Dialogue, is a strategic partnership between four major democratic nations in the Indo-Pacific region: Japan, Australia, India, and the US. In fairness, the US technically isn’t in the region, but, well, you know. The Quad usually focuses on Indo-Pacific economic, security and strategic cooperation issues.

Yesterday, the four countries’ leaders attended an event in Joe’s hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, where they jointly announced a new “Cancer Moonshot initiative,” to attack the burden of cancer in the Indo-Pacific region. Why a Cancer Moonshot now? You know that one, too.

At the presentation’s start, Joe took the podium, thanked everyone for coming, and then blanked out. His brain rebooted. He forgot everything. “Who am I introducing next? Who’s next??” he demanded angrily, as the audience members uncomfortably looked around at each other in terrified confusion. Is he talking to us?

A brief awkward silence followed. No clapping. No encouragement. No laughing. Mercifully, the momentarily shocked moderator sprang into action, introducing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India, arguably the US’s biggest and most important ally in the region. Oh yeah. That guy.

Corporate media ignored the Biden Blanking story, of course. Who cares? It’s not like that guy is running the country. We are now at the bizarro-world point where we are expected to accept as routine that the leader of the free world is non compos mentis.

But the Indians noticed.

I blame whoever took away Biden’s teleprompter. Maybe they thought he could handle just a few remarks. They thought wrong.

💉💉 The UK Telegraph ran an explosive, long-form story yesterday headlined, “How Covid destroyed our lives, from newborns to pensioners.” Given the article’s contents, they weren’t exaggerating with destroyed our lives. But given its causation conclusion, a more accurate headline would have been, “How LOCKDOWNS destroyed our lives.” The article already garnered 2,100+ spicy comments, far more than any other story on the Telegraph’s website I could find.

image 6.png

Both the article and its ‘experts’ quoted therein blamed lockdowns for an astonishing assembly of bad outcomes, a depressing parade of horribles categorized by age cohort. But the connection to lockdowns was purely correlative, just because those happened around the same time all the problems started. As you know, ever since the shots, we’ve been regularly assured that correlation is not evidence of causation.

Except when it is, apparently. But set aside the causation argument. Look at what’s happening.

What we know for sure is that citizens of Great Britain are worse off in every measurable way compared to before the pandemic. As bad as that unsurprising development was, it wasn’t even the worst news. The worst news was much more sobering and, in a sane world, would provoke the kind of all-of-government response that was deployed for the fake pandemic.

In any case, the worst news of all was that all those poorly-trending health and wellbeing metrics are still getting worse.

“Across every age group, a wide range of effects has already been mapped,” wrote the Telegraph. And it’s not even close to over: “Experts believe that more will emerge in time.”  UK citizens on the disability rolls rose again, for the first time reaching 3.9 million, up +40% compared to before the pandemic.

Alcoholism is up. Drug use is up. Alcohol deaths in the UK are increased +40% since pre-pandemic levels, part of the excess deaths total, which remains stubbornly elevated.

Kids are being crushed. Post-pandemic babies are still behind in nearly all developmental milestones, with a majority of new UK kindergartners still in diapers. Rates of school absences in all grades are double pre-pandemic levels. Middle-schoolers are at record low test scores for reading and math. All pre-teens and teenagers are experiencing eye-watering levels of anxiety and depression.

One recent study of 11,000 UK teens found almost half (44%) reported mental health problems.

A National Health Service study released this month concluded that twice as many young adults aged 16 to 24 are moving straight from college (graduated or dropped out) onto permanent disability. Working-age adults and elderly are plagued with excess death, disability, and new health problems.

As I noted, the number of reader comments to the article was off the charts. I scrolled as far as I had time for, and nearly all the comments were critical of covid and the government’s response. So that was a silver lining.

But the lengthy article and the fertile comments section missed one giant needle in the room: the jabs. It remains the missing link.

💉 I’ll offer you two recent examples lest we conclude that this is a British-only problem. This week, actuarial trade magazine Swiss Re ran a story headlined, “Covid-19 may lead to longest period of peacetime excess mortality, says new Swiss Re report. In other words, we’re catching up to war levels of excess deaths.

The number-crunchers avoided controversy by blaming persistent high levels of excess U.S. deaths on covid (aided by CDC’s creative death statistics). But look at the only health issue they specifically identified:

image 7.png

That’s right. Cardiovascular mortality. Which is not a well-known symptom of a respiratory virus, but is a well-known symptom of another, different kind of artificial virus.

Next up, the Richmond Times-Dispatch ran an editorial yesterday headlined, “Commentary: Most schools in America are off track. Virginia is no different.” Governor Younkin is under fire, again, this time for insisting the Virginia schools be measured by pre-pandemic metrics. You can easily guess which groups are most loudly complaining about how unfair that is.

According to one pre-pandemic tool, less than a third (31%) of Virginia students are currently on track for college and career in reading and math. The numbers have been dropping rather than recovering from the pandemic:

image 8.png

It’s not just a Virginia problem; it’s the whole U.S. Even absent underlying health issues, even if these problems were just caused by lockdowns, our educational establishment is completely unequipped to handle it.  The ones running the educational apparatus generally aren’t smart enough to help the kids. We need a better government.

🔥🔥 On Friday, CNN ran a very encouraging story headlined, “Republicans are suing more election officials over voter rolls in several battleground states. It’s the best news you haven’t heard about.

image 11.png

Though CNN never complained when leftists were doing it, CNN thinks all this conservative lawfare is just terrible and is a dangerous threat to our democracy. It quoted liberal election activist Uzoma Nkwonta (fake name alert), who whined “you are seeing what appears to be an outright assault on the list maintenance practices, an outright assault on voter registration practices.”

That already sounded promising. But get this:

image 9.png

Digging deeper, I discovered CNN underreported the number of active lawsuits. From Democracy Docket, which CNN cited as its source:

image 10.png

I’m not saying corporate media is downplaying all the RNC’s election-related lawfare or anything. I’ll let you decide.

The states with lawsuits include the tossup and battleground states, like Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Voter roll cleanup operations are also widespread. On Friday, ProPublica reported that Oklahoma election officials removed over 450,000 ineligible voters last week, including nearly 100,000 dead voters and 5,000 felons. Two weeks ago, Texas announced removing 1.1 million ineligible voters during “routine roll maintenance.”

Around the same time, Virginia’s Glenn Younkin announced removing 6,300 noncitizens from its voter rolls. And Alabama’s Secretary of State Wes Allen announced his office discovered over 3,000 potential noncitizens registered to vote.

Republicans have not been asleep at the election integrity switch. They’ve just been waiting to spring into action when it was too late for cheaters to develop new tactics. That time is now, and it is happening. Many cheating plans are being disrupted, and its making them into very frustrated and cranky cheaters.

Progress!
