Wow. 2024 continues to be a year that keeps giving “things” that have never been “given” before.  So telling of the MSM that they will not cover how the richest man is involving himself in the 2024 election! If you need proof that the MSM is a slave to the left, the Dems, the Deep State; I don’t know how much more there can be.  The 4 Front War is concerning. mrossol

WORLD NEWS AND COMMENTARY

🔥🔥 The Wall Street Journal ran an engaging story yesterday headlined, “Elon Musk Offers $1 Million Daily Prize for Signing His Petition.” The space billionaire keeps raising the stakes and corporate media keeps trying to ignore him. Maybe this news will break him out of the embargo.

CLIP: Elon announced million-a-day plan (2:47).

Yesterday, during one of his stump speeches in the key tossup state, putting more of his money where his mouth is, Elon Musk announced his newest incentive for his America PAC petition drive: a lottery! Every day, one person will be selected to receive a million bucks. He dramatically awarded the very first check  at his “Elon Talk” in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to a randomly selected member from the audience.

Elon explained the new promotion is meant to help market the petition. “The legacy media,” he said, “won’t report on it.” But he thinks this news “will really fly.” We’ll see.

Under the rules, every day between now and the election, a lucky Pennsylvanian will get $1 million so long as they (1) are registered to vote in that state, and (2) sign Elon’s petition in favor of free speech and the right to bear arms.

In case you missed it: Here’s a link to a recent clip of veteran political analyst Mark Halperin explaining to Tucker Carlson why Pennsylvania is so important (1:54).

🔥 Among other things, Elon’s Pennsylvania stump speeches —open to petition signers only— are demonstrating the entrepreneur’s wry sense of humor as well as his political savvy.  In this next clip, Elon talks about overregulation. The world’s richest man hilariously described having to satisfy government regulations to shield Pacific sea creatures from the perils of falling spacecraft.

CLIP: Elon’s true story of Final Destination, Whale Edition (3:13).

One wonders why the government is so worried about the sharks, and why now. Rockets have been landing in the Pacific Ocean since the 1960’s. Were Boeing and NASA ever required to perform the same statistical sea critter analysis as SpaceX? If so, if these kinds of studies have been done before, why does the government seem so confused about how SpaceX should perform the analysis?

In terms of his participation in this political moment, Elon Musk strikes me as kind of like a supercharged version of businessman and third-party candidate Ross Perot, if Perot had been helping George Bush, Sr. instead of running as spoiler.

Americans love successful entrepreneurs. Trump was elected in 2016 on his business accomplishments; he’d never run for office before. But now Trump’s image is more political than entrepreneurial. And Elon Musk is ably filling that role. In an honest world, media would be writing volumes about what Musk has accomplished — despite all odds.

Trump is a dealmaking genius and is also incredibly lucky. Somehow he managed to pull off the best of all worlds by recruiting the single most successful entrepreneur in the world —who was a democrat!— to help his presidential campaign. Someday, I hope to find out how he did it.

🔥🔥 Speaking of Elon Musk, sometimes it feels like people are starting to get it. This week I noticed this 2018 graph making the social media rounds, and Elon re-tweeted it, ensuring it would be seen by millions:

Finally! Here at C&C no single group has been more mocked and despised than so-called ‘experts.’ The threshold problem is that the media always lies about who can be an expert. If media was honest, Arnold Schwarzenegger would be a health expert, and nobody would ever listen to morbidly obese, cross-dressing, county health supervisors from Pennsylvania (cough, ‘Rachel’ Levine).

I’ve long argued that credentialism is another big problem. Considering someone to be an ‘expert’ only because they hung around school long enough to earn a PhD, and then got hired as an assistant professor at some community college somewhere, has nothing whatsoever to do with expertise(but it has everything to do with politics—see chart, above).

Media picks its “experts” like Rachel Levine picks jelly-filled donuts.

It’s very encouraging progress that the term “expert” is rapidly becoming a euphemism for ‘sold-out hack.’

🚀🚀 Media predictions of war in Taiwan are as commonplace these days as Zelensky nagging us for more walking around money and stiffer weapons. But maybe because of the timing, this story felt a little different. Yesterday, NDTV ran a story headlined, “Xi Jinping Asks Troops To Prepare For War As Battle Drills Intensify Around Taiwan.

image 4.png

Xi’s comments dropped during record-high “military drills” by the U.S.-led coalition of nations and the Chinese. On Thursday, President Xi visited China’s missile brigades and told the soldiers to get ready for war.

In any other year, that kind of remark would be considered routine political posturing. After all, leaders don’t usually announce their real war plans ahead of time on television. They do, however, often encourage troops to be ready to fight.

But after watching the Middle East’s slow-motion combat play out, and with the U.S. teetering on the precipice of its fraught election, President Xi’s comment feels more ominous.

You can’t find any reservations on corporate media, which has completely abandoned any pretense of peace. It’s all-war, all the time.

But on social media, there’s a sense that our enemies are slowly gathering momentum on four different fronts. Despite corporate media’s silence, independent observers have noticed what looks a lot like coordination among the U.S.’s traditional enemies, and all right around election time. Here’s just one example comment:

Fortunately, the odds do not favor this kind of poly-crisis, not if statistics have anything to do with the analysis. We shall, however, keep a close eye on developments.

And, just to be on the safe side, vote early.

🔥🔥 What do you call it when someone accidentally tells the truth? A Freudian slip? The Hill ran an unintentionally farcical story yesterday headlined, “Lizzo blasts Trump’s Detroit swipe at Harris rally: ‘I’m proud to be from this city’.”  The day before, at a separate event, Trump had compared Detroit to a developing nation. In other words, he called it a “third world” you-know-what-hole. Which was fair, for a whole bunch of reasons, like Detroit’s 8.8% unemployment rate, twice the national average. Or maybe because Detroit competes to be the U.S.’s “most dangerous city.”

image 5.png

CLIP: Lizzo agrees whole country will be like Detroit if Kamala wins the election (0:14).

The problems started when the left tried to flip the script and tar Trump with his “meanness.” Hip-hop singer and unlikely flute player Melissa Jefferson, a/k/a “Lizzo” (not her real name), campaigned with Kamala “Plan B” Harris in Detroit yesterday as early voting kicked off there.

Responding to Trump’s Motor City criticism, Lizzo yelled, “They say if Kamala Harris wins, the whole country will be like Detroit. Proud like Detroit. Resilient like Detroit,” and the crowd cheered.

She probably should have just argued why Detroit is not like a proud and resilient third-world country.

At the rally, Lizzo spoke even longer than Kamala, who climaxed prematurely after turning in a weak six-minute performance. For whatever reason, hip-hop artist Lizzo didn’t sing or even play the flute.

Meanwhile, the night before, also in Detroit, Trump spoke for an hour and a half.

Finally, in case you needed any evidence, consider this headline from Detroit’s own Metro Times, just over one week ago:

image 7.png

So. Believe Lizzo, or believe your own lying eyes.

🔥🔥 Last but not least, last week we got more great legal news, this time from Pennsylvania, which was even more encouraging. The Franklin County Free Press ran the story headlined, “Court Rules that PA Elementary Teacher Violated Parental Rights Teaching Transgender Topics.

image 8.png

Last week, Federal Judge Joy Conti held that kindergarten teacher Megan Williams broke the law when she read trans books (not on the school’s curriculum) to her young students and discussed trans issues with them.  Appalled parents with religious and moral objections to transgenderism sued, arguing that the trans lessons conflicted with their deeply-held beliefs and parental rights.

Judge Conti agreed. The court held parents have a constitutional right to reasonable prior notice about any upcoming non-curricular instruction on sensitive topics like gender bending. The opinion said parents should be allowed to opt their children out of trans instruction, like they can for other sensitive subjects. The court also stressed that giving teachers ‘unrestricted discretion’ to teach transgender topics is impermissible.

Hilariously, the virtue-signaling school defended Ms. Williams’ sex chats by claiming the books she read to her kindergarten classes were not about sex at all, not really, but were actually about kindness, empathy, and acceptance. Judge Conti, probably rolling her eyes so hard she could count the ceiling tiles, dismissed the school’s claimed defenses, pointing out that the trans books didn’t explicitly include any themes of ‘kindness, empathy, or acceptance,’ or even bullying scenarios.

This great story was not just another incremental victory in the conservative counter-revolution. Even more hopefully, the battle was won in what might be the most important tossup state. And the local coverage I saw while researching the story was either neutral or pro-parent.

We can take this Pennsylvanian development as a providential sign with which to enjoy our Sabbath.

Have a blessed Sunday! And thank you, profoundly, for your continuing loyal support of the C&C mission. We’ll get back together tomorrow morning for the Monday morning kickoff roundup.
