🗞*WORLD NEWS AND COMMENTARY* 🗞

💉 NFL.com ran a story touching yesterday headlined, “Bills Co-Owner Kim Pegula Recovering From Cardiac Arrest Suffered in June 2022, Daughter Reveals.” But the headline kind of buried the lede. “Recovering” can be a tricky word.

Buffalo Bills co-owner and president Kim Pegula, 53, suffered a sudden and unexpected cardiac arrest AT HOME in June, 2022. She hasn’t been seen or heard of since, and until now the family has refused to provide any information about what happened.

Some crazy conspiracy theorists even speculated she could be dead.

Yesterday, Kim’s daughter Jessica Pegula published an “essay” in the Players Tribune, explaining how she badly felt about her mom’s heart attack, and in the process provided the first details about her mom’s condition and the injury.

According to Jessica, in June last year, Kim Pegula woke her husband up in the middle of the night by having a completely unforeseen heart attack. Kim was already unconscious, and it would be weeks before she woke up again. Kelly, another daughter, had recently — and fortunately! — taken a CPR course and kept Kim alive till the ambulance got there.

Otherwise it would have been a sudden and unexpected death.

Eight months later, Kim is “still recovering.” And by the description of her recovery, it’s no wonder Kim hasn’t been seen in public:

Today, my mom is still in recovery and although it is the same answer every time someone asks me, it is true, she is improving every day. She is dealing with significant expressive aphasia and significant memory issues. She can read, write, and understand pretty well, but she has trouble finding the words to respond. It is hard to deal with and it takes a lot of patience to communicate with her.

As a baby, Kim was found abandoned in the streets of South Korea. She overcame that rocky beginning, married an energy entrepreneur, had a family, and was running an NFL franchise. Kim had everything you could ask for, including her health, but now she has lost almost everything — both her health and especially her ability to enjoy the fruits of her blessings.

But at least she was boosted. So there’s that. It could have been worse.

🔥 It’s working. Our relentless focus on resisting the narrative for the last three years is beginning to break through into the mainstream, starting to persuade people who have viewed themselves as “moderate,” and expanding what people are willing to think and talk about.

I don’t want to oversell it — we’re not “there” yet — but the latest evidence of significant movement came this week in the form of an Epoch Times op-ed, penned by libertarian journalist and founder of the Brownstone Institute Jeffrey Tucker, titled “Leviathan Must Be Stopped.” (It was originally published last week but updated yesterday).

About mid-way through the article, Mr. Tucker neatly described the entire problem; the pandemic, yes, but also what the pandemic has exposed: the deep network of institutional corruption digging its tendrils far beneath our social roots:

The institutions on which we used to depend to defend our liberties and rights—nonprofits, courts, intellectuals, academia, tech, and media—have failed spectacularly. We had no idea just how many of them had long ago been already captured. We didn’t know that the feds were deeply embedded at Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. We didn’t know that they’d already captured the news pages of The New York Times and so on. We thought that these institutions were merely ideologically biased. We didn’t know that they had become tools of the regime.
When the intellectuals and nonprofits went silent when lockdowns, mask mandates, and vaccine mandates came along, we thought that they were merely afraid to speak. We hadn’t considered that their silence was evidence of a much deeper corruption. They were either being paid for silence or blackmailed into it.

Precisely. It’s not JUST that the non-profits and corporate media lean liberal. The real problem is they are now wholly-owned CIA subsidiaries. The spies are running the institutions so seamlessly that the cold-war-era KGB minders of Pravda’s editorial board could’ve learned a thing or two from this generation of spooks.

Mr. Tucker also noticed that, during the pandemic, certain groups were better able to resist the government’s psychological manipulation techniques:

[T]he communities that resisted … weren’t the secular elites much less the academy or corporations. They were religious communities: the Hasidim, the Amish, the Mormons, the traditionalist Catholics, and later, the Evangelicals. It turns out, just speaking empirically, holding to a hard faith and living in a community of others who also hold that faith turned out to be the greatest single mental and intellectual protection against [mental] infection[.] My humble suggestion, then, is that if you don’t have a faith, get one immediately. You need it to protect you against the lies of the secular elites, who are selling their own false version of religion.

While there were some secular folks who were able to resist the militarized mind games — some of them are part of the C&C army — they were few and far between. Jeffrey Tucker’s diagnosis and prescription are right: faith is the strongest defensive weapon against the élites’ demonic mind virus, and the Church is the group best positioned to organize a resistance. (It just needs to wake up.)

Apart from the Church, Mr. Tucker also had practical suggestions that will sound very familiar to regular C&C readers:

[W]e desperately need institutional reform and revolution. People talk about reforming the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Department of Education, the National Institutes of Health, and the FBI. Forget it. These institutions need to be completely defunded and defanged. They’re corrupt to the core, to the point that there’s no hope. In addition, we need dramatic legal reform. The quarantine power needs to go away. We need reform of money to get it away from the hands of the Federal Reserve. We need education solely in the control of families and communities.

A few short years ago, Mr. Tucker’s commentary would have seemed a little unhinged, and would have been relegated to small, close-knit groups of hardcore libertarian readers. Now he’s been published in a major newspaper — true, it’s the Epoch Times, not the New York Times, but still.

For what it’s worth, the comments to his are almost universally positive. Specifically, nobody called Mr. Tucker crazy.

The message — what we’ve all been screaming for three years now — is penetrating. We’re THAT close. Now we must push it over the finish line.

🔥 Haha, Pfizer tried to do some internal damage control and someone leaked it to Project Veritas. Significantly, the pharma colossus implicitly acknowledged Jordan Walker works there, by indirectly referring to him as “one of our colleagues.” The rest of the “internal use only” memo is a hoot.

Is it just me, or does this dystopian memo sound just like something excreted from the bowels of the CDC or any of the other agencies these days? They all sound alike. It’s all just official bureaucratese without any entrepreneurial flair at all, or even any sign that Pfizer has any thoughts separate from the government.

“Anti-science activists.” The “spread of harmful misinformation.” “Breakthroughs that change people’s lives.” But not profits. No, of course not. Not a single reference to Pfizer’s economic or business interests. Which if you think about it, is very weird. Are they running a business over there?

That’s a serious question.

Pfizer clearly thinks its employees are so dumb that they believe the company is a philanthropic organization or charitable NGO devoted to science and helping people instead of shareholder returns.

On the other hand, after witnessing Jordan Walker’s performance, I wonder if maybe Pfizer is right.

🔥 After several days this week during which American was terrified by a giant Chinese spy balloon, they were subjected to even more hot air in last night’s State of the Union address.

Remember, I watched last year’s State of the Union for you guys, in part because I needed to confirm my theory about the shifting covid narrative, but also because I love you all that much. But you couldn’t expect me to do it again this year. It’s too much. But I rounded up a few low-lights for you:

At one point in his predictably unremarkable speech, Biden tried to accuse Republicans of wanting to end Social Security and Medicare, but spirited House Republicans were having none of it:

Absolute chaos in the chamber when Biden accuses Republicans of wanting to get rid of Medicare and Social Security.

In another entertaining moment when Biden was talking about how people feel when their spouse comes down with a serious medical problem, CSPAN cut to blank-faced John Fetterman.

I’d like to shake that camera man’s hand. Well done, sir. Well done.

CSPAN cut to John Fetterman when Joe Biden started talking about what you would do if your spouse had a serious medical problem lmfao

Sarah Huckabee Sanders delivered the Republican response, and by all accounts she knocked it out of the park. Among other salty points, she accused Biden of being more interested in “woke fantasies” than reality. Well, she’s not wrong.

Townhall.com @townhallcom
Sarah Huckabee Sanders: “We are under attack in a left wing culture war we didn’t start, and never wanted to fight. Every day we are told we must partake in their rituals, salute their flags, and worship their false idols…That’s not normal. It’s crazy, and it’s wrong.” 🔥🔥🔥

Bless her feisty southern heart, Marjorie Taylor Greene insurrected a big balloon into the Capitol before Biden’s big speech, but unfortunately she wasn’t able get it into the SOTU. Still, I loved the optics.

It’s just an innocent balloon… #SOTU

In other words, the SOTU was a circus, featuring clowns, animals, and balloons. (Cue circus music.)

🔥 Just The News ran a story yesterday headlined, “Judge Strikes Down Federal Gun Control Law, Second Major Loss for Biden Admin in Less Than a Week.”

Late last week, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals struck down a law banning firearm possession by anyone subject to a garden-variety domestic restraining order. The court explained, “The question presented in this case is not whether prohibiting the possession of firearms by someone subject to a domestic violence restraining order is a laudable policy goal, [rather the issue was whether such a rule] is constitutional under the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution.”

The appellate judges found the rule WASN’T constitutional.

In a separate decision entered yesterday, a different Oklahoma federal judge struck down another law that bans firearms possession by anyone convicted of drug possession. In the case, a man named Jared Harrison was arrested after a routine traffic stop, for having some personal marijuana but no medical card, and was also charged with a more severe federal crime, because he had his lawfully-obtained pistol stowed in the car.

The court found the law was “unconstitutionally vague,” and therefore it ran afoul of the Constitution’s Second Amendment. To support his ruling, the judge cited last year’s Supreme Court decision NYSRPA v. Bruen, which held that U.S. gun regulations must be “consistent with the Nation’s historical tradition of firearm regulation.”

Calling the Biden marijuana law a “trojan horse,” the judge explained in his opinion that, “The Framers weren’t perfect, but they also weren’t fools”:

[I]f the United States’ theory is correct and all a legislature must do to prohibit a group of persons from possessing arms is to declare that group “untrustworthy,” then the Second Amendment would provide virtually no limit on Congress’s discretion. The Framers weren’t perfect, but they also weren’t fools.

The Framers weren’t fools, but there ARE a lot of fools around.

🔥 A proposed new law was approved by the committee in Idaho this week, allowing it to move closer to being made into law. The bill includes significant new family-law safeguards for parents who don’t want their kids vaccinated. First, the law would forbid any child welfare investigation based on the child’s vaccination status:

Even better, the law would preclude judges from terminating a parent’s rights because the parent disagrees about vaccinating their child:

We need a lot more of this. Some of the most heartbreaking cases I get from people who call my office are ones who’ve run afoul of a pro-jab family law judge. Since family-law judges can enter almost any order if they determine it is in the best interest of the child, some profoundly disastrous things can and do happen in family court.

Pass it, Idaho!

🔥 Tucker Carlson isn’t buying the Biden Administration’s explanation of its tepid, turtle-like response to the Chinese war blimp, and he also debunked the “whataboutism” lie that Trump also allowed THREE war blimps free range over the U.S., just like Biden did:

Jack Posobiec 🇺🇸 @JackPosobiec
Tucker just WENT OFF on the Biden Admin’s response and obvious lies about the Chinese spy balloon

If you paid attention, you noticed that Tucker also called out corporate media for homogeneously accepting sketchy anonymous sources for the Trump-balloons fairy tale. Tucker is THIS close to talking openly about what is really happening, the truth that the other Tucker wrote about in his Epoch Times commentary, that the corporate media is a deep state-controlled monolith.

Is it just me, or does it look like the Biden Administration is now trying to gin up a war with China? I am hearing some pretty wild stuff from active military service members. Let me know in the comments if you want to dig into this a little more.

Be encouraged! We are holding our own and making progress.

Have a wonderful Wednesday. I’ll see you guys back here tomorrow for more.
