🚀 In another example of how “isolated” our sanctions program is making the Russians, this morning the BBC ran a story this headlined “China’s Xi Jinping in Russia For Talks With Putin.”

AFP quoted Xi saying, “I am confident the visit will be fruitful and give new momentum to the healthy and stable development of Chinese-Russian relations.” In comments, President Xi described the two countries — who were enemies before the sanctions regime — as being “reliable partners.”
China’s foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin described Xi’s visit as a “trip for friendship, cooperation and peace.” Wang told reporters, “China will uphold an objective and fair position on the Ukraine crisis and play a constructive role in promoting talks for peace.”
The trip is rumored to be setting the stage for a proposed peace deal in Ukraine, presumably based on China’s 12-point cease-fire proposal. For example, the Wall Street Journal ran a story Friday headlined, “U.S. Seeks to Head Off Any Chinese Call for Cease-Fire in Ukraine.”
State department spokesman John Kirby responded to rumors of a cease-fire, explaining the United States’ official policy is that the only acceptable answer is more war in Ukraine. ANY call for a ceasefire, Kirby insisted, would be “unacceptable,” regardless of the terms:
Ulysses S. Grant earned the nickname “Unconditional Surrender Grant” as a brigadier general in 1862. When Confederate General Simon Bolivar Buckner was surrounded and outnumbered at Fort Donelson, Buckner petitioned Grant for terms of surrender. Grant promptly replied, “No terms except an unconditional and immediate surrender can be accepted. I propose to move immediately upon your works.”
Joe Biden is delusional. He thinks he’s U.S. Grant.
🔥 Meanwhile, as it further “isolates” Russia, the U.S. has lost Africa, pushing most of that continent to the Russia-China axis. The New York Times ran a story yesterday headlined, “A ‘New Cold War’ Looms in Africa as U.S. Pushes Against Russian Gains.”
The article described U.S. efforts to court the tiny country of Chad:
The United States recently warned Chad’s president that Russian mercenaries were plotting to kill him and three senior aides and that Moscow was backing Chadian rebels massing in the neighboring Central African Republic. At the same time, Moscow is courting sympathizers inside Chad’s ruling elite, including cabinet ministers and a half brother of the president.

Suddenly and unexpectedly, most of the world’s population is either siding with or leaning toward Russia. Not only that, but the clear worldwide momentum is running away from the West and toward Russia. In other words, it’s working great, State Department! Now we’re having to try to scrape up countries like Chad (population 17 million).
It sure looks a lot like it’s the U.S. becoming “isolated” rather than Putin. What’s that old saying about doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? I can’t remember.
🔥 House Committee Oversight Chair James Comer (R-Ky) explained to reporters late last week that the Committee’s investigation is about JOE BIDEN.
So far, the Committee has collected evidence of lots of Biden crime family violations, as Chair Comer explained:
This is an investigation of JOE BIDEN… We will pursue all avenues that have long been ignored. Committee Republicans have uncovered evidence of federal crimes committed by and to the benefit of members of the President’s family. These include:
Conspiracy to Defraud the United States
Wire Fraud
Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud
Violations of the Foreign Agents Registrations Act
Violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
Violations of the Human Trafficking Victims Protection Act
Tax Evasion
Money Laundering
Conspiracy to Commit Money Laundering
… [we] will evaluate the status of Joe Biden’s relationship with his family’s foreign partners and whether he is a president who is compromised or swayed by foreign dollars or influence.
That’s a lot of crimes! If they can arrest President Trump, then they can certainly arrest the members of the Biden crime family.
🔥 Business Insider ran a story Saturday headlined, “Not So Fast. A New York Grand Jury Will Hear a Final Surprise Witness on Monday and Won’t Vote on Trump Indictment Until It’s Over.”
According to an unidentified “insider,” Manhattan DA will present an unscheduled witness to the Grand Jury today, before asking them to vote on whether to indict President Trump. If the jury doesn’t finish today, the Grand Jurors will keep working on Wednesday.
The article’s tone suggested that there might not be an indictment, at least, not by tomorrow as Trump and other media have suggested. But that’s about as likely as a ham sandwich negotiating a peace deal with Ukraine.
Meanwhile, also on Saturday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy strongly reacted to the news of Bragg’s Grand Jury and Trump’s imminent indictment, saying McCarthy has directed House committees to evaluate whether the Biden DOJ is “subverting our democracy” through politically-motivated prosecutions.
Is DOJ subversion still a debatable question?
🔥 The Daily Mail UK ran a story yesterday headlined, “Has the Penny Finally Dropped for CNN? Anchor Erin Burnett Admits Bank Transactions Revealing Biden’s Family Members Received More Than $1M in Chinese Cash ‘Don’t Look Good’.”
Erin Burnett is the hostess of CNN’s “Out Front with Erin Burnett.” She informed CNN viewers this weekend about the Oversight Committee’s bank records showing Hunter, Jim, and Hallie Biden getting those sweet Chinese wire payments, which Hunter’s lawyers euphemistically labeled “seed money.”
Trying to blunt the significance of the payoffs, I mean payments, Burnett admitted any “lay person” would think the Chinese payoff payments “don’t look good.” But her co-host Ryan Goodman told CNN viewers not to worry, because although it might be gross, he doesn’t think it will be chargeable. “When I look at all of the facts alleged in the [House Committee’s] four-page memo, it looks potentially unethical. But it’s difficult to match it up with any illegality or crime,” explained legal expert Goodman.
What he means is, they haven’t linked the payments to the Big Guy yet.

The Daily Mail reported how Hunter’s lawyers described the “seed money:”
“Hunter Biden, a private citizen with every right to pursue his own business endeavors, joined several business partners in seeking a joint venture with a privately-owned, legitimate energy company in China. As part of that joint venture, Hunter received his portion of good faith seed funds which he shared with his uncle, James Biden, and Hallie Biden, with whom he was involved with at the time, and sharing expenses. The accounts so dramatically listed by Rep. Comer belonged to Hunter, his uncle and Hallie – nobody else,” said the spokeswoman.
A “seed” is something you plant, so that it will grow, blossom, and bear fruit. The natural question is not which Biden got the money, but what kind of fruit were the Chinese expecting?
Quid pro quo! Cui bono?
Goodman also admitted that, if you look at it the right way, the payments could look like “influence-peddling” between foreign actors and the Bidens, but repeated that he, Goodman, didn’t see anything illegal at play. He obviously didn’t consider the Foreign Agents Registrations Act, which requires people who lobby US officials to disclose their relationships and who is paying them, even if the US official is your dad, brother, or father-in-law.
In other words, Goodman didn’t evaluate the long list of crimes that Chairman Comer listed out against Biden family members. Goodman was only opining about whether White House Resident Joe Biden could be charged with a crime. In his view, which sounds a lot like wishful thinking, it’s unethical, yes, but you can’t prove anything illegal happened.
We’ll see, Robert. We’ll see.
🚀 Yahoo News ran an alarming story yesterday headlined, “Polish Ambassador To France: Poland Will Be Forced to Enter War if Ukraine Fails to Defend Itself.” If Poland enters the war, NATO enters the war.
The short version is that the Polish Ambassador (to France) made the dire-sounding remarks in a media interview, suggesting Poland would attack Russia whenever Ukraine starts to lose the war. But the Polish Embassy quickly walked his comment back, saying it had been taken out of context.
The walkback was too late to stop about a million hot takes on social media, though.
Anyway, it’s a non-story. Clickbait.
💉 The Epoch Times ran a story Saturday headlined, “Vision Impairments in Patients After COVID-19 Vaccination, Doctors Caution Possible Risks.”
Can you see the problems yet?
The article begins with the unfortunate tale of Representative Mike Belcher (R-N.H.) who took his first Pfizer shot in April 2021. His eyeballs have not been the same since. Belcher has had “ocular migraines” for almost two years now.
Within 12 hours after taking the shot, Belcher’s vision became “strange.” He started noticing that the red and green color balance in his eyes would shift, and dark spots would appear in his view. Soon Belcher would be tormented by painful headaches, starting with a blinding light causing searing pain at the back of his eyes. More serious symptoms followed, including impaired balance (being unable to walk in a straight line) and memory problems.
Fortunately, with daily medication, Belcher’s migraines seem to be happening less often.
Alabama neurologist Dr. Diane Counce and ophthalmologist Dr. Lynnell Lowry were interviewed for the story. Both doctors reported increased cases of their patients having weird eye problems following vaccination.
Epoch reported on a study published in November 2022, when the American Academy of Ophthalmology posted a meta-review of postvaccine ocular problems. Vaccine-induced eye complications fell into four broad categories: ocular inflammatory diseases, optic neuropathies, anterior segment conditions, and retinal conditions.
Dr. Lowry said that patients are becoming reluctant to admit they were vaccinated. “There’s a huge stigma,” Lowry said. Patients who got vaccinated and had adverse events are “almost afraid to blame it on the vaccine.”
Gee, I wonder why the patients feel a huge stigma. A stigma right in the eyeballs.
🔥 Marking one of the most unusual explanations of excess deaths to date, the Hill ran an op-ed yesterday headlined, “Early Deaths Are Skyrocketing: Culture Wars Are Part of the Problem.”
In other words, CONSERVATISM is causing excess deaths.
The ludicrous op-ed was penned by disgraced former Florida Surgeon General Dr. Scott Rivkees, whose pro-lockdown politics were so odious that DeSantis forced him out in 2021, replacing him with the terrific Dr. Joe Ladapo.

Rivkees isn’t bitter or anything, but he blames the explosion of excess deaths on a highly-politicized conservative social environment:
Culture wars have existed for decades but have been escalating in ferocity over the past several years in many states. Current culture wars include calls against critical race theory, restrictions on transgender athlete competition, banning books in school libraries, abolition of diversity, equity and inclusion programs, restrictions on transgender medical care for children, challenges to reproductive rights and the anti-woke movement.
Rivkees’ ridiculous panoptical theory revolved around: too many guns lying around (leading to suicides and school shootings), transgender kids being depressed by anti-woke politics (more suicides), kids depressed over heated arguments about masks (more suicides), kids’ stress making their parents stressed (more suicides), stigmatization of drug use making druggies depressed (more suicides), teachers getting depressed over being criticized (more suicides), states opting out of federal school surveys of kids’ sexual preferences (more suicides), and vaccine disinformation (suicide through vaccine hesitancy).
You think I’m making that up. That’s his whole excess death theory, conservative-induced suicide:
Without making a judgment related to causality, we need to recognize that gun-related deaths, suicides and homicides are greater in states where these culture clashes are influencing legislation than in those where they are not. But it is important that we recognize causality.
Rivkees is a moron, and my one criticism is DeSantis waited way too long to get rid of that guy. Better late than never, though. And Ladapo more than makes up for it. I’d take one Ladapo over a hundred Rivkees any day.
🔥 The Deseret News published an op-ed Friday titled “Opinion: Release the COVID-19 Intelligence.” The subtitle asked, “The House and the Senate unanimously asked for information on the pandemic’s origins to be released. Why hasn’t Biden signed the bill?”
It’s been over a week since the House and the Senate UNANIMOUSLY passed a weak bill requiring federal agencies to declassify and release their information about whether covid came from a lab leak or was coughed up by a raccoon dog or something.
But Biden has not still not signed the bill or vetoed it.
Like the Biden family payments, Biden’s refusal to touch the bill “doesn’t look good.” If the data proves the virus had natural origins, why not just release it now?
Op-ed author Jennifer Graham thinks Biden is slow-walking because he’s worried about creating yet another China scandal for his two-year-old administration:
The president is encircled with a constellation of problems involving China, to include the spy balloon he ordered shot down last month, the impending meeting of Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin, rising tension over Taiwan, and now, reports that Biden family members and associates received $3 million from a Chinese company. Whatever is contained in that intelligence is sure to add another geopolitical headache. The assessment of Utah Rep. Chris Stewart increasingly seems right: that the U.S. is “afraid of confronting China.”
There are hints the administration is trying to get ahead of the story. Fauci was making the rounds last week peddling a fairy tale that covid could have both escaped from the lab AND ALSO still been of natural origin, because somebody could’ve got infected BY a raccoon dog, was in the lab for study, and when they came out, bingo:
But nobody has EVER claimed the Wuhan lab had any people being studied for covid. Fauci just made it up. It’s the dumbest thing Fauci has ever said, in a long and storied history of saying dumb things.
They are flailing.
If a President does not sign or veto a bill within ten days of receiving it (excluding Sundays), and Congress is still in session, the bill automatically becomes law without the President’s signature. If Congress is not in session, the bill dies in what is called a “pocket veto.” If Biden vetos, it is likely Congress will override his veto.
Congress is in session. Biden has till Tuesday to approve or veto the bill, or it will automatically become law. Coincidentally, Tuesday is the same day Trump is rumored to be arrested.

It may not be a majority opinion. The stinky article sprouted in the social justice-themed blog “Afru,” which appears designed to declare EVERYTHING is racist, celebrates “dad bod positivity,” lists “6 reasons cuckolding is empowering, not emasculating, men,” and ran an article claiming that anyone who dislikes the label “Latinx” is transphobic.
So, I’ll keep the coffee. They can keep all that other stuff.
💉 Finally, to start your week off with a smile, here’s a hilarious clip from 2021 of Fauci and DC Mayor Bowser making the neighborhood rounds to talk local black folks into getting the shot. But the folks weren’t convinced, and gave Fauci and Bowser some pretty healthy pushback, which is why we never saw this video till now.
