WORLD NEWS AND COMMENTARY

I’ll start off today’s post by apologizing again. Thanks to the rush of recent events, I got behind in reporting high-profile SADS cases, and now we have a bunch of catch-up work to do. SADS cases aren’t particularly uplifting, but it must be done. I promise I’ll bring your spirits back up by the end of today’s roundup, just hang in there.

💉 It happens all the time! Two days ago, the New York Post ran a dreadful story headlined, “Pilot dies in bathroom of Boeing 787 — forcing emergency landing after Miami takeoff.”

image 4.png

According to the story, which cited local media, Iván Andaur, 56, one of three captains working on a LATAM Airlines flight from Miami to Santiago de Chile, reportedly became incapacitated about three hours after takeoff on Monday and later died.

The Captain had stepped out of the flight deck to use the lavatory after feeling unwell, but soon collapsed inside the tiny airplane bathroom. It would be the last lavatory he ever occupied. After dramatically gaining entrance to the tiny cubicle, flight attendants rushed to the pilot’s aid and immediately started emergency life support, including CPR.

Tragically, despite the crew’s best efforts, Iván was pronounced dead on arrival in Panama.

I don’t need to remind you, but I will, that airline pilots’ health is the most closely monitored of any employees in any industry in the world. Pilots must undergo regular medical examinations performed by designated aviation medical examiners (called AMEs). These medical assessments are typically conducted at regular intervals specified by aviation authorities, like the FAA. The exams include a comprehensive review of the pilot’s medical history, including cardiac issues, and physical examinations.

They still missed it, somehow.

So.

💉 Like I said, it happens all the time. Nowadays. Yesterday, the Times of India ran another plane crash of a story headlined, “Pilot who operated SpiceJet first flight dies on Delhi-Doha flight.”

The healthy, senior pilot, 51, traveling as a passenger, suddenly and unexpectedly died on board a Qatar Airways flight en route from Delhi to Doha yesterday morning. The flight, QR 579, was forced to divert to Dubai, where the pilot could not be revived despite emergency treatment.

One of the pilot’s long-time colleagues, grappling with a shock of his co-worker’s sudden demise, told the Times, “He was very fit and his untimely demise has come as a big shock for everyone who knew him.”

Well. Sort of a shock. And sort of not a shock, if you know what I mean.

💉 Last week, the New York Post — apparently the only U.S. media running these stories — ran a lamentable article headlined, “George Kolasa, luxury fashion exec, dead at 57 after cancer battle.”

image 5.png

George Kolasa, 57, a longtime luxury fashion corporate executive, died August 9th from an aggressive brain tumor that suddenly and unexpectedly appeared last February, 2022. After he got back from a Florida sailing trip, George felt like his balance was off, and the left side of his body was suddenly paralyzed. Doctors found he had a malignant brain tumor the size of a grapefruit.

That was fast. You might even call it “turbo.”

People diagnosed with glioblastomas usually have only 12 to 15 months to live. George kicked the bucket right on schedule. Glioblastomas are usually extremely aggressive and grow right into surrounding brain tissue.

George worked for brands like Ralph Lauren, Burberry, Karl Lagerfeld, and Tommy Hilfiger. He is survived by his husband, Justin.

💉 Late last month, the Hollywood Reporter ran another SADS executive-level story headlined, “Cari Ross, Gersh Communications Chief, Dies at 59.”

image 12.png

Cari Ross, 59, a veteran marketing and publicity executive who joined the Beverly Hills-based Gersh firm last year to lead its communications team, died AT HOME last month. Authorities obliquely cited a “heart condition” as her cause of death. No further information has been released, and never will be.

💉 Let’s move to the athletes. America Insider ran a story yesterday headlined, “Olympic Swimmer Helen Smart Dies Suddenly: ‘Can’t Comprehend’.”

image 6.png

Renowned member of Britain’s Olympic swim team and Olympic Silver Medalist Helen Smart, 43, died suddenly this week. No cause of death was released, but her family members described her passing as “sudden.”

Helen worked as the headmistress of Worsley Mesnes Primary School, which announced on its Facebook page, “It is with great sadness and regret that I have to announce the sudden death of our beloved headteacher, Mrs Helen Smart.”

During the pandemic, Ms. Smart’s school recommended jabs for kids ages five and up.

image 7.png

So.

💉 Sports website Only Homers ran a story earlier this month headlined, “Former Tennis Star Dies Suddenly at Age 31.”

image 8.png

Lilly Kimbell, right, with her doubles partner, left

Former University of Georgia standout Lilly Kimbell, 31, died suddenly this month after she collapsed of a heart attack AT HOME. Kimbell’s family said that the tennis star had been experiencing “kidney issues” that led to the heart attack. CPR was performed at the house, and then she was taken to the hospital, but she never woke up. Her family was forced to make the tragic decision to pull the plug.

If only we could pull the plug on the shot pushers.

It was sudden and unexpected. Georgia head coach Jeff Wallace said, “We were stunned and heartbroken to learn of Lilly passing away.” Lilly’s sister, Samantha Gillas, 22, said “I really don’t know what to say. I’m at a loss for words and in complete shock… it all seems so surreal.”

Lilly was in great shape. The tennis star was described as “one of the greatest athletes in the history of the program,” and held the school record for most consecutive doubles wins in a season, ranked fourth in career doubles victories, and seventh in doubles wins in a season.

Her tennis career, and everything else, is now kaput.

💉 Now let’s check in on performers and celebrities. Olive Press News ran an arresting story last week headlined, “Well-Known Drag Queen Afrodiziack Dies On Stage In Torremolinos.”

Another one ON STAGE! That’s even faster than at home.

Popular Spanish drag queen Afrodiziack, 41, died on stage while performingafter collapsing at Tiki Tiki Show Copas bar in Torremolinos. The well-known area adult artist was giving a live performance when he suddenly and unexpectedly fell unconscious to the ground in front of the audience around 2:30 am, and never woke up.

It wasn’t part of the act.

Fortunately, though, the performer had all his shots.

image 9.png

💉 TMZ ran a story last week headlined, “Johnny Hardwick ‘King Of The Hill’ Star Dead At 64.”

image 10.png

Johnny Hardwick, left, and mega-cartoonist Mike Judge, right

Johnny Hardwick, 64, a voice actor best-known for playing Dale Gribble on “King of the Hill,” died suddenly and mysteriously earlier this month AT HOME. Law enforcement sources told TMZ they were called to Hardwick’s Texas home for a welfare check where they discovered the body, already cold. LEO said Hardwick was pronounced dead at the scene and no foul play is suspected.

No cause of death has been released.

Ironically, Johnny’s show character Dale Gribble was an exterminator who lived next door to the titular Hill family who was always driving Hank Hill crazy with his anti-government conspiracy theories and wild schemes.

image 11.png

Okay, I lied, unintentionally. There are even more SADS, but that’s enough for today, and I’m running out of time. I’ll finish up the rest tomorrow.

💉 It has come to this. San Fransisco is becoming such a crime-ridden hellhole that even the government is throwing in the towel. Just The News ran the very ironic story yesterday headlined, “* Workers at Nancy Pelosi Federal Building in San Francisco told to work from home due to crime.”

image 13.png

Welcome to 2023, where satirical websites like the Babylon Bee are forced to compete with real-life headlines that that one.

Earlier this month, officials at HHS advised hundreds of federal employees to work from home indefinitely rather than risk commuting to the downtown federal building, which has become a hotspot for street drug deals in recent months. There’s some kind of metaphor here, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Help is welcome in the comments.

“In light of the conditions at the (Federal Building) we recommend employees … maximize the use of telework for the foreseeable future,” HHS Assistant Secretary for Administration Cheryl Campbell wrote in an August 4th memo obtained by the San Francisco Chronicle.

If even the federal government is fleeing San Fransisco, what hope do the residents have? Get out while you can!

Ironically, the HHS memo reportedly was issued the very same day that Joe Biden called on his cabinet to “aggressively execute” plans for federal employees to return to their offices after working remotely since the COVID-19 pandemic first began. But not in San Fransisco, apparently.

So that’s the federal government’s plan to keep its employees safe. Evacuate San Fransisco.

🔥 Although Americans aren’t allowed to see Russian media, it occasionally seeps through anyway. Watch this even-handed English-language report from Russia Today, and ask yourself: why aren’t American media running any reports like this?  All the facts in the clip are verifiably true, the only possible controversy is over the conclusion.

image 3.png

https://twitter.com/1337nubcakes/status/1691947163729969186

That’s it. That’s the whole case, in one five-minute report. You’ll notice, as I did, that the clip included American sources like Robert Kennedy, Jr., who has been ringing the bell for years but U.S. corporate media has him on blackout, even though he’s a democrat candidate for president.

Before the usual complaints roll in, this has nothing at all to do with whether Russia Today is a reliable source of news. Okay, you don’t like Russia Today. Then, who is more reliable? MSNBC? The New York Times? Don’t make me laugh. All the media is bent. The only difference is, in the West one side of the debate is completed buried under psyops and propaganda.

Corporate media’s efforts to ignore inconvenient facts smacks of desperation.

🔥 Finally, in a long string of unprecedented phenomena this month, perhaps the most encouraging and remarkable one was the appearance out of nowhere of folk artist Oliver Anthony and his breakaway viral hit “Rich Men North of Richmond,” which is comfortably sitting, right this instant, at #1 on Apple Music.

image.png

In just a few days, Anthony and his raw, heart-stirring, anti-elitist song have ‘occupied’ social media — and even influenced a Biden tweet, albeit one that misfired badly. U.S. corporate media is silent about the singing sensation. But yesterday the song’s siren sway stretched across the Atlantic to Great Britain, in the form of an op-ed published in the UK Telegraph, penned by its Sunday editor, Alister Heath, headlined “Fury of the silent majority is driving a global Right-wing counter-revolution.

I bet Anthony never saw that coming when he recorded his viral video.

Oliver Anthony, a name striking an ironically British chord, has in fact apparently tapped into a global right-wing counter revolution. If you somehow missed the Rich Men sensation, and God bless you if you did, you’re demonstrating phenomenal social media discipline, or apologies if you were on the ventilator or something, but either way if you missed it, here’s how the Telegraph’s article described Anthony’s viral song:

In America, Oliver Anthony, a previously unknown musician who has shot to fame with Rich Men North of Richmond, symbolises this shift. He rails against low pay, welfarism, state-subsidised obesity, woke social control and rich Left-wing elites. His song … encapsulates how Right-wing populism has become the anti-establishment movement globally. It is no wonder that the Republican party has been taken over: even if Donald Trump is destroyed, his second and third-placed rivals, Ron DeSantis and Vivek Ramaswamy, are revolutionaries.

Editor Alister Heath put his finger on the root in that paragraph. It’s not even left/right anymore. It’s anti-establishment versus pro-establishment.  I just said that myself a few days ago on a radio interview on Stand in the Gap, carried by over 400 stations.

Although Rich Men wasn’t referenced until midway through the article, it was clear that the entire op-ed was inspired, if not completely fueled up by, Anthony’s song. Consider the article’s lead paragraph:

These are not happy times. Across the West, the vast majority of voters are fed up with the status quo, furious at the political class and desperate for alternatives. They believe society to be broken, that the post-industrial economy and globalisation generally aren’t working for them, and are angry at the vast cultural, social and technological changes that they feel have been foisted upon them.

Truer words were never typed out on a screen. (And, I like the cut of this bloke’s jib, if that is the appropriate English metaphor — UK C&Cers?). The op-ed’s first half catalogued the dreadful fallout from the Left’s post-pandemic overreach, and the second half described examples of what it compellingly characterizes as a worldwide wellspring of rightwing pushback.

From time to time over the last two years, I’ve paused C&C’s regular programming to pull back and look at the big picture. As I see it, (1) World War III started sometime around December 2019, and (2) despite appearances and occasional setbacks, we are winning. Your humble author diligently works daily to present you the evidence of those truths in an entertaining and optimistic way.

Now stop for a moment and think about what it means that Rich Men North of Richmond has become an instant worldwide viral and commercial hit. You’d better believe your adversaries are thinking about it, so you should, too. In spite of their increasingly desperate efforts, the Left is losing the war for minds.  They are (still) clamping down on social media, on freedom, on money, on real estate, on safety and security, on medicine — on health itself — really, on everything they can wrap their pallid, decaying fingers around, but they are trying to crush sand.

The harder someone grasps sand, the faster it spills through their fingers.

I’ve been saving this thought for the right time, but it feels like now is the time to talk about it. Granted, the Wuhan lab leak was the most deadly and destructive human-caused disaster in history. A hundred percent. But now consider this: the Wuhan lab leak also dynamited the lid right off the most corrupt worldwide fascist enterprise in history. It also turned peoples’ hearts and minds against the largest, most well-respected and most corrupt human institutions on the planet, like the World Economic Forum, the World Health Organization, the Centers for Disease Control, the Gates Foundation, and the so-called United Nations.

We still have a long way to go, but by their inherently unstable design, massive corrupt conspiracies must fail. They can only grow by adding people in two incompetent categories: (1) useful idiots — who are idiots after all, and (2) corrupt people, who are always ultimately ungovernable.

The Proxy War is a great metaphor for where we are in this global conflict.

This will trigger a few folks, but imagine the Russians represent the right-thinking masses. NATO represents the Leftist élite machine. NATO is throwing everything in its arsenal at the Russian underdog, but the Russians tenaciously hang on to their gains and, inch by bloody inch, between wins and losses, are slowly, inexorably, winning the war. Similarly, the Left is running everything in its human-skin-bound playbook at the World, but the World is hanging on and slowly, painfully, winning.

Feel free to develop that thought in the comments. Am I all wet?

So, to set you back on stable ground, I’ll leave you with this awe-inspiring ‘reaction’ compilation over Anthony Oliver’s song, which unintentionally is also a clarion call for sanity:

People like me, and people like you. Livin’ in the new world, with an old soul. Indeed.

Have a totally encouraged Thursday, and y’all come on back here tomorrow for another snarky and optimistic roundup. Till then.
