THE C&C ARMY POST

🪖 It’s the week of Thanksgiving, a time of reflection and gratitude. I’m grateful that my whole family is finally getting together for the first time since the pandemic started three years ago. Another thing I am grateful for this year is that we almost certainly will NOT be enduring rude questions or comments from relatives about our personal vaccination status. (It’s especially unlikely since we’re hosting this year and everyone has already RSVPd.)

But if someone is reckless enough to ask about your vaccination status, ask them (politely) right back: how does their heart feel?

For your planning purposes, C&C will be closed on Thursday in observance of the holiday and family time.

WORLD NEWS AND COMMENTARY

💉 The Wall Street Journal must have gotten a nice fat check from Pfizer’s public relations firm this month. Yesterday, it ran an Alyssa Findlay editorial headlined, “The Covid Vaccine Windfall Turns for Pfizer and Moderna.” Ms. Findlay has previously been critical of pandemic policy, so the headline seemed promising, like maybe the article would detail the “rise and fall of Pfizer and Moderna.” But … nope.

image.png

Instead, I was shocked to discover the article was shameless pharma industry boosterism, a barely-disguised public relations puff piece for Pfizer and Moderna, a childlike and wildly-optimistic call to “move on” from pandemic distrust, a stomach-turning effort to rehabilitate pharma’s tarnished reputation and generate some fresh excitement over all the new mRNA drugs coming down the pipeline.

And the new mRNA drugs will work this time! They promise.

Outrageously, the financial paper’s article’s sub-headline drew a smiley face on Pfizer and Moderna’s tanking stocks, somehow generously allowing that, and I am not making this up: “Reduced demand and revenue for the jabs isn’t bad news; The industry is working as it’s designed.

Hahahahha! I couldn’t stop laughing! First of all, Alyssa Findlay sure is an upbeat kind of lady. So that’s nice. But what was much, much funnier was how perfect that sub-headline is, for an article about the shots. Think about it. Alyssa said: reduced demand and reduced revenue are signs the jab industry is working! Hahahaha! Get it!? They’re killing me!

Couldn’t they see the parallel? Myocarditis and blood clots are signs the shots are working, too! You really can’t make this stuff up!

I want to wear a t-shirt around with Alyssa’s sub-headline printed in bold face under the WSJ logo and a cartoon hypodermic needle.

The article’s real purpose was to dangle a tantalizing huckster’s inventory of snake oil and high-tech cure-alls, from new weight loss pills (that miraculously appeared on the scene right when pharma most needed a boost), to gene-editing technologies that will fix high-cholesterol and for hemophiliacs (Pfizer!) to — this time they mean it — personalized mRNA treatments for skin cancer(Moderna!).

Yawn.

What was much more interesting was what Ms. Findlay buried between all the promos; what she easily admitted while promoting all really good stuff coming down the pike. Here’s a lightly edited version of her comments about the covid vaccines that paints a surprising picture:

The jabs’ greatest benefit was in providing political leaders with the courage to lift destructive lockdowns and mask mandates. The vaccines were supposed to be a two-shot-and-done regimen, not blockbuster medicines that rung up tens of billions of dollars in sales every year with government support. But Washington rewrote the memo. From vaccine mandates to annual booster recommendations and misleading marketing campaigns, its salesmanship is matched only by its efforts to dump electric vehicles on an unwilling public. Statins and diabetes medicines prevent heart attacks, but the government doesn’t run ads urging Americans to use Lipitor or Ozempic.
And two-thirds of Covid deaths have occurred since the vaccines rolled out in January 2021. One enormous negative side effect of the government’s vaccine boosterism is that it has increased public cynicism toward pharmaceutical companies at a time when innovation is advancing at warp speed.

There’s a lot to unpack there. First, notice she blithely concluded the “jabs’ greatest benefit” was not saving people’s lives, which after all is what they were supposed to do. No, the “greatest benefit” was creating political coverfor ending lockdowns and mask mandates (we traded those for jab mandates, I guess). It’s even more telling that Ms. Findlay so easily dismisses any actual health benefits from the shots. Not everyone will agree with her, surely, but the argument is now on the corporate media table.

Even though Findlay never drew the ultimate point, she did expressly concede that two-third of “covid deaths” occurred after the vaccine mandate. That is basically admitting “they don’t do jack.”

Second, as a close media observer, I think this may be the first time I’ve seen an Establishment Media piece outright accusing the federal government of making the covid vaccine program into a “misleading marketing campaign,” and comparing Operation Warp Speed, not to a lifesaving emergency pandemic accomplishment, but to a boondoggle, like pushing unwanted electric cars on unwilling consumers through mandates, boosterism, and regulatory fiat.

It appears Big Pharma is ready to move on from covid vaccines. But personally, while I appreciate all of Ms. Findlay’s enthusiasm, I am not quite ready to move on yet. We still have a lot of talking to do.

📈 NBC News’ latest national presidential poll made the news this weekend, because it showed President Trump beating the democrat candidate (now, Joe Biden) by for the first time since the network began polling on Trump in 2017. Trump is up +2% over Biden in voter preference (which is within the margin of error). Meet the Press covered the story:

CLIP: NBC Meet the Press discusses latest national poll showing Trump up +2% (1:45).

To the extent that you can believe any of this, the most interesting development was Biden losing badly among young people and Millennials, who’d solidly supported the Resident in the 2020 election, and shifted just this year (as shown above). NBC blamed their dissatisfaction on Biden’s support for Israel, which seems unlikely, given it’s only been a month or so.

But significantly, NBC’s Meet the Press anchors carefully explained that the poll also showed Trump losing badly, by -6%, to any “generic democrat.”

In other words, NBC was pushing the idea that any other democrat candidate, except Biden, can beat Trump. Get it? The NBC poll and all the wide coverage of the story are more narrative battlespace preparation for democrats. Create the Problem (Biden’s losing to Trump!) — wait for the Reaction (Do Something!) — Deliver the Solution, which is cue up … Candidate Newsom?

💉 It’s a little stale, but I couldn’t resist. Seen online:

I. Just. Can’t. Even.

To be fair, her post is two years old. So Ms. Duncan lacked any benefit from watching how things would play out, and at the time she was subject to never-ending CDC brainwashing propaganda. But still. Here, apparently, is what Ms. Duncan endured after her second jab:

And yet, she still jabbed her kids. She believed the CDC over her own personal experience. It just means it’s working! Who are these people?

All I’ve got by way of explanation is medical fetishism.

🔥 Yesterday the New York Times ran an exciting story headlined, “Argentina Elects Javier Milei in Victory for Far Right.” The sub-headline added, “Argentina’s next president is a libertarian economist whose brash style and embrace of conspiracy theories has parallels with those of Donald J. Trump.”

1.jpg

Outspoken conservative libertarian and economist Javier Milei, 53, ran on an anti-socialism, anti-marxism, pro-free-market platform in Argentina and conclusively won last night, getting a whopping 58% of the popular vote, amidst the country’s severe economic crisis and +140% hyperinflation. “Today, the reconstruction of Argentina begins,” Milei said to a standing ovation as he celebrated the victory with supporters. “It’s the end of Argentine decadence,” he added, and called yesterday’s results a “miracle.”

Corporate media’s headline writers were completely discombobulated and could not agree on what obnoxious political label to stick on Argentina’s new president. The Wall Street Journal’s headline called him an “anarcho-capitalist,” whatever that is. NPR called him a “radical libertarian populist.” The Washington Post called him a “Trump-like libertarian.” CNN called him a “far-right outsider.”

I’d call him a free-market conservative, but decide for yourself. Candidate Milei pledged to: slash spending and taxes, close Argentina’s central bank, and replace the nation’s faltering currency with the more stable U.S. dollar. He proposed to ban abortion, loosen gun laws, and only ally with countries that will “fight against socialism,” frequently naming the United States and Israel as examples. Milei has called “scientific consensus” on climate change a “socialist plot,” and he often argues that Argentina is controlled by an elitist cabal. And like a lot of other intelligent people, Milei openly questioned the results of the 2020 U.S. election, and 2022 Brazilian election.

All of which badly triggered the New York Times and corporate media.

You might remember Mr. Milei; I’ve previously linked some of his fiery anti-marxist speeches. His victory last night was also a solid counter-revolutionary victory, and it was an encouraging sign that the globalists don’t yet control everything. The New York Times even agreed with me:

Mr. Milei’s election is a victory for the global far-right movement that gained strength with the election of Mr. Trump and similar politicians, among them Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil, though it has faltered in recent years with electoral losses. Mr. Bolsonaro and Spain’s far-right Vox party have cheered on Mr. Milei; the former Fox News host Tucker Carlson traveled to Argentina to interview him; and the billionaire Elon Musk on Sunday said after Mr. Milei’s victory that “prosperity is ahead for Argentina.”

Progress! Stay optimistic.

🔥 In case you aren’t tired of winning yet, in even more terrific counter-revolutionary news, the Guardian ran a story yesterday headlined “Republicans secure all statewide offices in Louisiana after sweeping runoff races.” The sub-headline explained, “GOP win elections on Saturday in once-bipartisan state for attorney general, secretary of state and treasurer.”

Come January, after Saturday night’s three runoff elections, the GOP will control every single elected statewide office in Louisiana. Republicans swept all three runoffs: attorney general, secretary of state, and treasurer. Thus, after November’s elections, Republicans in Louisiana have now joined Florida in holding a two-thirds supermajority in both the state house and the senate. It’s now 28 Republicans to 11 democrats in the Louisiana Senate, and 73 Republicans to 32 democrats in the House.

All three of the runoff races won by a landslide.  It wasn’t even close.

These results pile on to the dramatic gubernatorial victory in October, when Trump-endorsed, anti-mandate, former attorney general Jeff Landry’s definitively won the Governorship. Mr. Landry replaced eight-year incumbent and “moderate” Democrat John Bel Edwards, who’d termed out.  Republicans now control the entire state of Louisiana, including in offices like insurance commissioner and commissioner of agriculture.

It is easily arguable that the Republican sweep of the previously-purple state was empowered by the pandemic and by democrat Governor Edwards’ mandates, lockdowns, and overreach.

Not everyone was happy though. The Louisiana results badly triggered democrats. For example:

image 3.png

Oh, the horror! Yesterday, the “far right” won in Argentina and then the “hard-right” won in Louisiana. But — who do the democrats think are the “regularright?” The next story offers a clue.

🔥 Finally, speaking of the far right and Louisiana, enjoy this rare look into what the other side really thinks of new Speaker Mike Johnson. The following clip a rant by long-time democrat political advisor James Carville, the “Ragin’ Cajun,” angrily warning other democrats about Mike Johnson’s terrifying sincerity and the threat posed by “nice” “Christian Nationalists.”

image 4.png

CLIP: James Carville rants about Christian Nationalism and outs RINOS (2:13).

The whole thing was fascinating, and made me like Mike Johnson even more, which I didn’t think was possible. Still, I thought Carville’s first line was the most telling. This is how top democrat activists see a couple of our side’s legacy leaders:

Sometimes you look at a politician or you look at Kevin McCarthy and say, “that guy is pliable, he’s just like a bowl of jello,” or “McConnell, he’ll do anything he can to stay in power.”

Well. My goodness. I guess we aren’t the only ones who wonder whether former Speaker Kevin McCarthy is just like a bowl of jello, or whether Senator Mitch McConnell will do anything he can to stay in power. In a perfect world, I would prefer that democrat activists like Carville complained about McCarthy and McConnell the same way he complains about Speaker Johnson, instead of calling them pliable.

How about you?

Have a marvelous Monday! I’ll catch you guys on the backside tomorrow morning with more delicious Coffee & Covid.
