WORLD NEWS AND COMMENTARY

💊 What can I tell you, it’s 2024, and here we go again. Multiple media outlets spun this breaking story every imaginable way, but I preferred the straightforward, yank-off-the-bandaid approach of the University of Minnesota’s CIDRAP headline:

image.png

Hahahahaha! Somebody make it stop!

A new Paxlovid (Nirmatrelvir) study pushed up this week like a painful pimple atop the narrative’s nose, and in the New England Journal of Medicine, no less, with fourteen authors. There is safety in numbers. How did this bypass the journal’s censorious editors? Maybe the NEJM is trying to scrape together the tattered remains of its shredded reputation.

Or maybe something else is afoot.

image 12.png

The CIDRAP’s directly-worded headline, as bad as it looks, still understated the technically-worded study’s damning data and critical conclusions. First of all, Table 3 in the study reported that, of 654 trial participants, 83 people reported adverse events from using the drug (versus 31 in the placebo group), and 16 people dropped out because of their side-effects (compared to only 5 in the placebo group).

So not only did Paxlovid fail to “shorten symptoms,” but it also caused side effects in 13% of people taking the drug — over 1 in 10. And remember “Paxlovid rebound!” Another new study published in March found a full 25% of Paxlovid munchers enjoyed a second, often more serious, covid infection. That just shows it’s working!.

In other words, for vaccinated people Paxlovid was all risk and no benefit. Unsafe and ineffective.

The study concluded Paxlovid doesn’t really work for anybody:

The time to sustained alleviation of all signs and symptoms of Covid-19 did not differ significantly between participants who received nirmatrelvir–ritonavir and those who received placebo.

Gosh. Over the last two+ years, the federal government spent $12.6 billion taxpayer dollars buying Paxlovid pills from Pfizer. You won’t believe this, but the NEJM study finished two years ago, but the results are only popping out now:

image 2.png

Unfortunately, that information about Paxlovid’s ineffectiveness might have been useful, back before we spent tens of billions of dollars buying pills that don’t work. It’s just modern-day snake oil, except you don’t have any choice about buying. You bought Paxlovid whether you liked it or not.

As Barney Frank says, “government is just stuff we do together.”

image 3.png

What can we conclude about this? It sure looks like the study — ironically financed by Pfizer — was stashed in a secret missile silo somewhere until after most people stopped taking the useless pills and until after Joe Biden stopped shoving pallets of cash down Pfizer’s insatiable gullet.

I think the most reasonable response would be for the weight of the blame to be laid upon the drooling, mentally deficient doctors who promoted Paxlovid to their patients because the CDC told them to. Drug companies lie, which is why we have regulators. Regulators get captured, which is why we have doctors. When doctors fail, the whole sordid scheme collapses.

As a postscript, I checked liberal Twitter replacement BlueSky to see how the medical fetishists were taking the news. Not well. Most — including scientists and doctors — are currently in denial, paranoiacally convinced this study is a vicious lie somehow slipped through by dreaded anti-vaxxers, or it was misinformation because they think Paxlovid still “works” — off-label — to prevent long covid. A smaller group is demanding that someone develop “better covid drugs, now!”

What can I tell you, it’s a medical fetish. It’s not supposed to be rational. But it was totally predictable, and a lot of us did predict this would happen.

📉 Uh-oh! The Hill ran a distressing story yesterday headlined, “Biden could face issues getting on Ohio ballot over scheduling conflict.

image 4.png

The problem arose due to an Ohio rule that candidates must qualify for the general election after noon on a Tuesday, which conflicted with Joe Biden’s unchangeable daily afternoon nap time.

Haha, just kidding. Actually, in Ohio candidates for president must be certified on or before August 7th. The problem is, that deadline is almost two weeks before the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, scheduled for August 19th.

Therefore, sleepy Joe Biden — or whoever gets the nomination at the convention — might be unqualified for Ohio’s general election. If the democrat candidate, whoever it is, isn’t on the ballot, then they just handed Ohio’s 17 Electoral College votes to Trump, who won Ohio in both 2016 and 2020.

The irony is delectable. Soon, liberals who until five seconds ago celebrated the chance to bar Trump from the ballot in Colorado and Vermont, are about to lose their minds complaining how undemocratic ballot-banning is. Get ready!

🔥 On Friday, more bad news emerged for mendacious scientists in the form of a Daily Mail article headlined “Puberty blockers may NOT be reversible and could raise children’s risk of fertility problems and even cancer, Mayo Clinic study suggests.” The sub-headline piled on: “Experts found ‘mild-to-severe sex gland atrophy’ in minors taking blockers and warn of ‘irreversible harm to the fertility of patients’.”

image 5.png

Remember: transgender doctors have been insisting that puberty blockers only “put puberty on pause” to give kids a chance to make up their minds about what sex they want to be. So this study is very bad news for the blooming trans industry.

The best part about this news is it will fuel lawsuits by kids against transing doctors who prescribed the dangerous hormones falsely claiming they were “fully reversible.” The next best news was, signaling a major narrative shift, the Daily Mail described puberty blockers as “one of the most controversial issues of our time,” rather than as routine medical care for transgender youth.

In the study (currently pending peer-review), Mayo Clinic researchers looked at one of the largest collections of testicular samples for patients aged 0-17 years — don’t ask how the samples were harvested — with and without gender dysphoria, who did and did not take puberty blockers.

image 13.png

Out of nine boys taking puberty blocking hormones, two had visible malformations in the berries area. One of the two had “fully atrophied” over 60% of the affected area, and also had small calcium clusters linked to testicular cancer.

This study stacks onto the sordid WPATH Files story, which recently revealed prominent trans scientists’ internal emails showing they intentionally buried evidence of side effects. Science! And it came right on the heels of last week’s landmark 15-year study showing that most kids’ gender dysphoria resolves on its own.

It might be too soon to say that transing of kids is dead and buried, but the truth of the drugs’ Mengele-like nature is finally emerging out of the scientific shadows.

I hereby renew my calls for doctors who’ve prescribed these “harmless” drugs to children to be forced to take an adult dose for each prescription they wrote. After a fair trial, of course.

🚀 This can’t be good news, not amidst three major world conflicts. USNI News ran a story last week headlined, “Constellation Frigate Delivery Delayed 3 Years, Says Navy – USNI News.” Imagine that.

image 6.png

The flagship Constellation project was supposed to revitalize an aging Naval fleet, with the first deliveries coming online this year, in time for service in the world’s many developing conflicts. But alas, for a long list of blame-shifting reasons, the project has now been pushed back for at least three years.

Conventional wisdom is that the U.S. military-industrial group has the best and brightest that equity, diversity, and inclusion can provide.

Now compare that useless headline to this one from the Guardian in February:

image 7.png

Apparently the Russian war industry is booming. The article described how hardworking Russian factory workers are getting wealthy earning increased wages and overtime. Moscow’s war factories are vastly outproducing Ukraine, and even outproducing the West. The Russians aren’t just building replacement gear either; according to the story, they are innovating and turning out new types of weapons never before used on the battlefield.

image 8.png

Remember — Russia is accomplishing all that under the harshest economic sanctions the neocon-controlled U.S. can dish out. This story is not just significant for the Proxy War. While Biden’s sanctions have catastrophically failed, he’s succeeded at putting the entire Russian military industry on steroids.

Meanwhile our defense industry is mired in the slough of unimaginably expensive DEI doldrums.

Just saying, but even before the new Russian Industrial Revolution, the Russians built the Kerch Bridge — the longest bridge in Europe — in two years. But experts are predicting that, even under an accelerated development timeframe, and even with the repair bill fully funded by the federal government, it could still take up to fifteen years for the U.S. to rebuild the Francis Scott Key Bridge.

But, they tell us, the rebuilding delay is actually a good thing:

image 9.png

Joe Bidenism! They are Bidening the bridge.

And yet, the neocons are sure we could win a war against Russia.

💉 Finally, here’s one more study for your consideration. If you’ve felt like the world has gone crazy since the start of the pandemic, you aren’t wrong. Science Alert ran a story last week headlined, “Major US Study Confirms a New #1 Cause of Disease Worldwide.” Guess what it is.

image 10.png

The study, published in The Lancet and carried out by hundreds of researchers at the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), found more than 3.4 billion people, almost half (43%) of the entire global population, experienced neurological problems in 2021 — “far more than had previously been thought.”

The world has literally gone crazy. For some reason. The study showed that nervous system problems are now “the world’s leading cause of overall disease burden.”

According to researchers, over 443 million years of healthy life were lost to incurable nervous system disorders globally just in 2021. Of that total, 160 million years of healthy life were lost due to strokes. That astounding figure was followed in the ghastly rankings by a sickening kind of brain damage called neonatal encephalopathy. After that, it was migraines, dementia (including Alzheimer’s), nerve damage from diabetes, meningitis and then epilepsy.

It’s so strange. What else could have happened in 2021? Coincidentally, nearly all those categories of neurological injuries are what we’ve become used to seeing in jab victims. But predictably, the scientists — who instantly knew everything knowable about covid-19 — remain obstinately baffled.

The word “vaccine” appeared nowhere in the Lancet study, not even in a footnote. Maybe it’s climate change?

The frightful neurological news piled on last week’s macabre coverage of the baffling “epidemic” in young cancer cases:

image 11.png

The dots are right there, but nobody seems able to connect them. Thank you, $cience.

One wonders how long this pseudo-scientific charade can possibly continue. What do you think? Let me know in the comments.

Have a blessed Sunday! Be of good cheer, for He has overcome the world. Be here tomorrow morning for another informative and entertaining Coffee & Covid roundup.
