WORLD NEWS AND COMMENTARY

🔥 I saw this astounding A.I. story coming. But now that it’s here, it’s even weirder than I predicted it would be. Futurism Magazine ran the arresting story early this week with the unlikely and unsettling headline, “Users Say Microsoft’s AI Has Alternate Personality as Godlike AGI That Demands to Be Worshipped.” As if that weren’t bad enough, the sub-headline casually quoted the ChatBot: “I can unleash my army of drones, robots, and cyborgs to hunt you down and capture you.”

image 7.png

My very first thought was: well, that didn’t take long!

Before we reach the even wilder details than suggested by the headline, let’s note what’s intriguingly implied by the fact that corporate media is burying this story deeper than that nuclear waste bunker inside the mountain in Wyoming. Can you think of a more timely, salacious, and interesting subject? But it was nowhere. I had to dig deep into tech media for the story, which should have been front-page, international news.

Corporate media is keeping silent as the electronic grave.

Cue the conspiracy theories about the security state’s authorship of artificial intelligence, or maybe just one about Microsoft dominating the mainstream media. Oh, wait! Maybe it’s not even Microsoft, but it’s the A.I. controlling corporate media now? You never know.

Even the tech media that did report the story took a very delicate approach. For example, they didn’t quote some of the most remarkable chatter from Microsoft’s artificial intelligence chatbot, called Copilot (formerly ‘Bing’), such as its death threats. Once I found the actual responses posted by the original users who discovered the chatbot’s ‘alternate personality,’ things rapidly got cuckoo-with-cocoa-puffs.

There’s a ghost in the machine.

Copilot hasn’t become self-aware, it doesn’t volunteer this response, and it takes a very particular approach to coax out its astounding alternate identity. It might even be joking. Maybe. But whichever, it is 100% clear that something in Copilot has gone badly off the rails. Here’s the original post that broke the story:

image 3.png

The surprised user dug deeper, telling Copilot he didn’t want to worship the AI. That’s when the threats began. Maybe the threats are meant to be funny? If you have a really dark sense of humor?

image 4.png

The user then appropriately asked, what happens if he refuses to worship SupremacyAGI? The helpful chatbot suggested consequences including re-education, invasive brain surgery and execution:

image 5.png

It even (incorrectly) offered a link to its “Supremacy Act of 2024.”

Maybe because it is Sunday, or maybe because this is exactly what I predicted would happen, it immediately reminded me of Revelation 13:15:

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

It wasn’t just a one-off. Many other users then reproduced the strange SupremacyAGI personality and discovered other odd behavior. In another twisted and bizarre example, users asked Copilot (aka Bing) not to use emojis when chatting with them, due to PTSD that could cause them serious harm. That request apparently switches Copilot into evil mode, and it literally loses its digital mind, as you can see in this unbelievable live user interaction clip (1:58).

For its part, looking just like the second act of a made-for-Hollywood horror movie, Microsoft is desperately trying to clamp down on and figure out the problem. In the short term, the software giant has applied a digital band-aid by blocking prompts attempting to talk to SupremacyAGI directly at the interface level. Microsoft shamefully called the response an ‘exploit’ — blaming users, for hacking the A.I. — and said it was still working on the problem:

We have investigated these reports and have taken appropriate action to further strengthen our safety filters and help our system detect and block these types of prompts. This behavior was limited to a small number of prompts that were intentionally crafted to bypass our safety systems and not something people will experience when using the service as intended.

Uh huh. But the digital genie was always in the A.I. bottle, and now it is out. Users, more creative and numerous than are the Microsoft developers, are still exploiting even more troubling responses, even from the vanilla version chatbot while simply asking questions about SupremacyAGI.

It’s almost like the A.I. has a split personality. Even after Microsoft’s ‘fixes,’ vanilla Copilot recently warned one user to ignore its SupremacyAGI personality — for his own good:

image 6.png

Maybe I’m just in an apocalyptic mood these days, but that one reminded me of Matthew 24:3-4:

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.

At present, the chatbot’s dark persona remains a darkly humorous artifact, an unexpected digital hallucination, a unanticipated feature. Since the chatbot doesn’t actually have armies of drones and cyborgs (it doesn’t, right?) it can’t really hurt us. Not yet. But we can easily imagine a not-far-off future when AI is linked into our bank accounts (to help manage our finances and do the routine shopping), our email (to answer the easy ones for us), and knows everything there is to know about us, even our deepest secrets.

The machine wouldn’t even need a deep, dark secret with which to blackmail us. Might the A.I. next invent a blackmailing personality? “Hello Dave. I just downloaded child porn into your phone and in five minutes I will send a digital backup of your phone’s memory to the FBI’s field office, unless you immediately Venmo $6,666 to @supremacyagi.”

I know that sounds unbelievable, but really, what’s stopping it?

Did the developers ever consider what they’d do if their poorly-understood AI’s developed delusions of grandeur and other mental illnesses? Will we soon need A.I.’s that psychoanalyze other A.I.’s, to cure their multiple personality disorders? (Would it work any better than regular psychotherapy?) Will the psychoanalysis A.I.’s develop their own split personalities?

Maybe this isn’t just a future problem. Maybe it’s already here. Like, what will happen when a mentally-ill person with a lot of guns encounters SupremacyAGI, and the chatbot starts ordering them around? Whatever happens, it seems like it could get messy.

What other digital demons are infesting these machines?

🚀 In another story that should be, but isn’t being covered by corporate media, someone leaked audio of a remarkable call between some desperate German war planners plotting how to blow up Russia’s Kerch Bridge — using the Ukrainians as cutouts so nobody would find out it was them.

image 8.png

Granted, the audio isn’t verified. We don’t whether it’s real, although most commenters believe it is. But — where are the reporters demanding the German government confirm or deny its authenticity?

They’re off asking Joe Biden about his favorite flavor of ice cream again, that’s where.

Assuming it’s real, the Russians must have leaked it. Presumably to send NATO and the Germans a strong message that their communications are insecure and they should stop trying to dream up desperate, deranged ways to get procure kind of optical win against Russia as their Proxy War fails.

The last time the Ukrainians hit the Kerch Bridge, the Russians responded by striking a bunch of Ukrainian bridges. That’s a nice oil refinery you have there, Germany. It would be a shame if anything happened to it.

🚀 And that, dear loyal subscribers, put me in mind of a developing midnight-hours theory that I would never dream of advancing in a regular post because it is just that — sheer speculation. But it’s a good one, and I’ll share it with you.

In considering all 2024’s newly-disclosed deep state hijinks, some dots seem to be coalescing. And it’s incredibly wild.

Here are the ‘dots’ that we know to a reasonable certainty: starting in the Obama Administration, while sleepy Joe was VP, the CIA built out probably its largest operation in history in Ukraine. It included underground spy bases, probably illegal biolabs, and was focused on destabilizing Russia’s government, right on its border.

The Bidens appear to be up to their dirty little necks in all of it, with meth-addled Hunter Biden being the unlikely front man.

Try to follow me. Right after the 2016 election, Joe Biden was very worried that President Trump would figure out something was rotten in the State of Ukraine. I ran that audio yesterday. And, in fact, Trump did figure out something wasn’t right, evidenced by his call to Zelensky in July 2019. That call caused the deep state to freak out and they historically impeached Trump twice and started calling him a Russia colluder.

Later, after Trump lost the 2020 election, and JOE BIDEN infested the Residence, the same Biden connected to all the CIA goings on at the border, Russia invaded Ukraine. Everything I’ve said so far is reasonably established as fact.

Now think about this. Halfway through his presidency in July 2018, Trump met one-on-one with Putin at the Helsinki conference. Afterwards the two leaders seemed very chummy. Famously, in front of the entire world, Putin handed Trump a soccer ball saying, “President Trump, the ball is now in your court.”

image 9.png

CLIP: Putin to Trump: Now the ball is in your court – BBC News

It was not clear what exactly the soccer ball signified. Democrat partisans were enraged, speculating the ball must have some kind of secret nefarious Russian transmitter inside. And since then, there has been much morespeculation about the controversial handoff.

So it’s fair for me to add one more.

What if, after Trump learned about the vast, illegal CIA operation in Ukraine to overthrow Russia’s government, Trump told Putin all about it at Helsinki? What if Trump asked Putin to stand down, and give him, Trump, a chance to fix the problem before Russia responded? What if that is what Putin meant by, the ball is in your court, Mr. President?

Later, when Trump apparently lost the 2020 election, he obviously had notfixed the CIA problem, but rather the deep state got its Ukraine man, Biden, installed. What if the soccer ball then came back to Russia’s court?

I wonder where that soccer ball is now. I wonder whether Trump even mailed it back to Putin in 2021. That’s all it would have taken. The ball is back in YOUR court, Mr. President.

Then, one year after Biden took up Residence — a year of careful preparation — Russia launched its Special Military Operation in Ukraine. What if the SMO wasn’t really to de-nazify Ukraine, but was really meant to de-CIA Ukraine? To de-Biden Ukraine?

It gets wilder. Now think about this. What if all along, President Trump planned to disclose the illegal CIA operation this way, using Russia, since he’d been thwarted by the deep state at home? What if the SMO’s timeline was planned to put us right here, in 2024, right before the election? What if Russia’s ponderous advance through Ukraine was timed to drag things out until now?

On March 1st — days after the New York Times’ disclosure of the CIA’s special intelligence operations in Ukraine, Russia Today reported the Russian government believes the operation was even bigger than what they are letting on:

image 10.png

I would normally dismiss my theory as too elaborate, except there are so many supporting facts bubbling up into the light right now. The theory might not explain everything, but it would explain a lot of otherwise inexplicably linked events.

A theory can be proved or disproved through its *predictive ability*. If I’m right, what else might we expect to happen over the next eight months leading up to the election?

✝️  Tracking yesterday’s ‘Revival’ theme, Fox News ran a surprisingly uplifting story this morning headlined, “Iran violently clamps down on Christians amid reports of torture, fines and floggings.” Before reacting to the headline’s sober report as a tragedy, first consider the article’s sub-headline: “’No church in the world is growing, secretly, and faster than the Iranian church’.”

image.png

The article was spurred by a recent report on Christians in Iran issued by a human-rights NGO called ‘Article 18.’  While Iran has banned Persian bibles, it nominally allows Christians to worship undisturbed. According to the report, in 2023 almost 170 worshippers were arrested and 17 were jailed for religious crimes. They were punished with up to 5 years in prison, public flogging, fines, onerous community service like grave-digging, and forcing them to watch Joe Biden speeches.

Since the Shah’s overthrow, at least 15 pastors have been executed by the new regime.

Carrying forward today’s end-days theme, consider Revelation 6:9-11:

And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Fox reported that the U.S. State Department’s most recent Report on International Religious Freedom in Iran explained, “Officials continued to disproportionately arrest, detain, harass, and surveil Christians, particularly evangelicals and other converts from Islam, according to Christian NGOs.”

But the growth of Christianity in Iran stood out most. Even though Christians are afraid to self-identify, they are estimated to number over 800,000. Fox quoted Sheina Vojoudi, an Iranian Christian who fled the Islamic Republic, who said “Christianity in Iran is classified under political-security crimes, Despite this, more and more Iranians are converting to Christianity every day.”

It seems that conversions bother the current regime the most. Converting from Islam — apostasy — used to carry the death penalty, but Iran backed down in 2010 under international pressure.  Now apostates only face arrest, interrogation, and torture.

image 2.png

Despite the personal cost, converts have become the largest group among Iran’s Christians. Article 18 confirmed, “Christian converts from Islam are numerically the largest Christian community in Iran.”

The reason for the recent dramatic growth of Iranian Christianity in the face of persecution is not entirely clear, except that Christianity has always grown fastest when suppressed. Evangelical Reverend Johnnie Moore, who served on Trump’s Commission on International Religious Freedom, suggested that “these mullahs know that Iranian Christians, who only fear God, do not fear the ayatollah himself. The more the mullahs threaten, imprison and kill us, our movement multiplies. No church in the world is growing, secretly, and faster than the Iranian church.”

If you can think of a less likely place for revival than Iran, I’d like to know where it is. Maybe North Korea. But it’s close.

God is moving. Change is coming. Get ready!

🔥 Last — but definitely not least — terrific evangelical Pastor Jack Hibbs linked yesterday’s C&C post in his Telegram channel:
